Greetings

Well, what can I say at this point..  Normally retirement means every day is a holiday.. in fact you lose track of what day it is.  But then again, it is a time when you can start to re-assess what is happening in your life.

Sometimes, you realise that whilst you are happy and content, there could be more.

Sometimes you even realise that you may have discovered a spiritual home which fulfills a need and a desire and that you are either living there, or you are not.

In our case, we realised that we are not and that in all the world’s turmoil and modernity there is a place where time moves much slower and brings peace and tranquility.

Where we are now is peaceful and quiet and is a nice small crescent in Canada where nothing major happens..  sounds almost perfect doesn’t it…  but what if I told you that there was a place where both of us relax into a different way of life.. where you wake up in the morning and can see tall hills and water, both river and ocean, and a new house was probably built around 1800. (the oldest ones date from around 1300).

Well that place is Dartmouth in Devon in England and we are moving there in September 2018..  just over a year from now.

We are leaving Canada for an adventure on the other side of the Atlantic and whilst we will both miss Canada and all our friends and family here, we will not be that far away in Global terms and still able to talk to all of you and the family via this wonderful thing called the internet and the telephone.

So,  wish us luck and please stay in touch because, for the cost of an airfare (or a ship crossing) there is now a reason to visit the UK and have a fun holiday.

This site will be kept upto date as we go forward and will have photo albums from Dartmouth and our travels.  If I can work out how..  Pego wants to get a blog started on here as well.

Finally, we will be sending everyone new email addresses soon so as to maintain contact because as soon as we leave, the current ones will dissapear.

Love to all and hope you enjoy living our adventure with us vicariously through this site.

“Too many times we stand aside and let the water slip away. To what we put off ’til tomorrow has now become today. So don’t you sit upon the shore and say you’re satisfied. Choose to chance the rapids and dare to dance the tides”

Garth Brooks from his song  The River
